Fat

Presence of fat, in moderation,

Conduces towards sound constitution;

But fat, in a preponderation,

Clogs the vesicles of function.

Just so the wealth within a nation:

Excess begets complete stagnation;

But all the fat, well distributed,

Leaves none with overmuch, and health well suited.

This simple few lines is so meaningful within our society today . . . little has changed.
